Rezaian Family Fund of the Marin Community Foundation

Held longer than any previous Western journalist in Iran, Washington Post correspondent Jason Rezaian has been detained in Tehran since July 22, 2014. He was held without charges for five months and prevented from retaining an attorney for nearly nine months. Throughout this time, he has been held in solitary confinement and suffered through many untreated health issues.

Jason's trial began in Tehran on May 26. The proceedings are bring held in secret; both his mother and wife are denied access to the court. He has been allowed only one 90 minute meeting to plan his defense.

A team of dedicated individuals, including President Obama and Jason's family, continue to seek Jason's release.

Until Jason is released, tax-deductible gifts made in Jason's honor to the Rezaian Family Fund at the Marin Community Foundation will support the work of nonprofit organizations, such as Reporters Without Borders, to bring home persecuted journalists, including Jason Rezaian.
